Quote requests
When you call, text, email or use our website form: your name, phone number, email address (if given), the vehicle's details and location, and any photos you send. Website form requests are delivered through our email provider.
Vehicle purchases
When you sell us a vehicle: your full name and address, details from your government-issued photo ID, the vehicle's registration and VIN, your signature on the bill of sale, and the details we need to pay you, such as your e-transfer email or phone number. If you're selling on someone else's behalf, we also collect copies of the authorization or estate documents you provide.
Website visits
Your browser sends basic technical information, such as your IP address, device and browser type, to the website's hosting provider. This website does not currently use Google Analytics or advertising cookies.
2. How We Use It
- To prepare and send your quote
- To schedule and complete pickup
- To confirm your identity and that you can legally sell the vehicle
- To complete the bill of sale and pay you
- To meet our legal obligations, including Alberta's scrap metal and recycling rules, which require us to record seller identification and transaction details and report certain transactions
- To answer your questions and provide customer service
- To understand how people use our website and improve it
3. Who We Share It With
We never sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With government systems and law enforcement when the law requires it, such as scrap metal transaction reporting
- With trusted service providers who help us operate, such as payment, phone, email and website hosting providers, who must keep it confidential
- With licensed recyclers or buyers of the vehicle, limited to vehicle information unless the law requires more
4. How Long We Keep It
We keep transaction records for as long as the law requires, which for scrap and recycling transactions is at least two years, and longer if tax or other laws apply. Quote requests that don't lead to a sale are deleted within 12 months.
5. How We Protect It
We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards, including password-protected systems, access limited to the people who need it, and secure storage for paper documents.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate
- Opt out of marketing messages at any time
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings if cookies are introduced later
